Real market options rather than one company's price Commercial goes out to the open market through the specialty carriers and managing general agents I work with, so what comes back is built around your operation instead of whatever one company happens to want this quarter. Carrier appetite changes constantly, and having one person go back out on your behalf each year beats making four phone calls yourself.
I read the coverage before I talk about price Almost everyone can tell me their premium. Very few can tell me what they would actually pay out of pocket when something happens, because that number isn't on the front page. Deductibles written as percentages, coinsurance requirements, exclusions sitting on the exact work you do, jewelry capped far below what you assume. That's what I look for, and it happens before I quote anything.
I stay in the picture after the sale Most people hear from their agent twice. Once when they sign up and once when the renewal bill arrives. You get a review every year, a call when something changes, and my cell phone number. When you call it, I answer it.
